CCN Advisory was established in 2008 by Jimmy Chiam and David McCracken following their successful collaboration on The Gardens, Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur.
Combining their collective experience of over 30 years in the retail redevelopment industry, the group focuses on advising its clients on core retail development strategies, assisting with development planning, retail planning and design, and positioning strategies. As the company grows, CCN Advisory will work with internal and external teams in developing high level strategies for client groups.
David is an architect by training but has been working across all parts of property development for almost twenty years. David has held leadership roles at major Australian and International corporations has been involved with major projects in Australia, Asia, Europe, UK and Nth America. David’s Asian experience extends to the successful development of The Gardens at Mid Valley where as the CEO, he led the delivery of this landmark project from 2005-2008.
Having worked at both Project Director and General Manager levels, David brings both the aspirational and commercial sides of a project together, combining strategic planning with design and development leadership. These expansive roles have facilitated the extensive engagement of both private and public stakeholders - who have informed and shaped projects, that has led to a deepening of knowledge and experience and a wide professional network.
Through this broad experience, David has developed skills in both the up-front conceptual planning of major mixed use projects as well as the delivery of projects through the full development cycle. Key projects included the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, the redevelopment of the Shell headquarters in London, and Victoria Harbour in Melbourne. Whether involved in a major urban regeneration or a small new community centre, the focus remains on consumer satisfaction, market leadership, place creation and an efficient process for delivery.
David is particularly focused on market driven solutions, design leadership and product development. With a passion for the development of the place and its community - as well as the project itself, his experience has exposed him to a wide range of civic and cultural influences that have allowed him to establish clear reference points for the planning of new and regenerated urban communities and the challenges involved in new city planning and regeneration of animated, enriched public life.
David has presented at many national and international conferences challenging the standardised approach to development. He has now established Voda Management as a collaborative advisory network across the property industry working with developers, land owners, consultants and government on strategiesto achieve maximum benefit through community focus, design leadership and place creation.
